The Art of Making Silver Enamel
This art is very sophisticated and difficult, yet interesting. Enamel is a special kind of glass, prepared through complicated processes with many chemical additives. This art requires a lot of patience, imaginative mind and quick reflexes at every stage of creation. The silver figures are made of pure silver enamel painted with required color schemes and then kept at a temperature of 600 to 650 Fh. The whole process is very risky and little deviation or carelessness may destroy the figures. In the setting session, a proper shape and solidity is given by filling the hollow portion with a natural resin (lakh). The ultimate and very crucial step is gujaai and decoration, which is very essential for its effective presentation.
